E-Commerce Shopping Cart Software
I have spent a few years developing ecommerce solutions for my clients. In a search to become more efficient and to reduce the cost of an individual ecommerce install I looked into the idea of using a pre-built open source ecommerce package. I believe our first packaged cart was called storefront and was built on the asp framework. I would have to say that system was the most difficult package to use of all the systems we tested. The back office application was clunky and the framework was not what I had expected when spending a nice amount of cash to acquire the software.
The second choice of ecommerce software, ZenCart was a much better solution. ZenCart utilized PHP and had a wonderful online community. The draw backs I found with ZenCart was 1, that it was only available in PHP, I have clients with a wide range of needs. 2, The layout had some strong limitations that took a bit of time to work around. I was much happier with ZenCart than I was with the previous solution.
One day by accident I stumbled across the www.cartweaver.com website and ecommerce solution. Cartweaver offers a very nice ecommerce package that is available in PHP, Coldfusion and ASP. This system has some very nice prebuilt features and comes with a secure feature rich administration section. The cartweaver install was simple and with an modular design, it is a breeze to integrate cartweaver into almost any design skin. The cartweaver product provides a nice base ecommerce system that we are able to customize to fit our customers ecommerce and online catalog needs.
Over the past couple years we have built numerous custom ecommerce shopping cart web sites and a large number of these sites used cartweaver as a base framework.
